Environment
Environmental responsibility is part of Fenog's cultural heartbeat. Potential harmful effects of Fenog projects are minimised through good forward planning and the actual impact on the environment of any Fenog project is monitored, assessed and recorded for the purpose of accountability.
Fenog has created an ongoing process of environmental monitoring, preservation of ecosystems in project regions and ensuring accountability on a project's environmental impact. These processes are backed-up by policies and practices that Fenog and its staff take very seriously. These include:
-
Identifying all immediate and long-term effects on the environment of Fenog projects.
- Empowering environmental specialists to design plans that reduce negative impacts at project start.
- Conducting environmental awareness programmes to educate workers on the long-term consequences of damage to the environment.
- Ensuring environmental protection plans are adhered to by Fenog workers.
- Monitoring such plans
- Taking preventative and corrective actions, when appropriate, during projects.
- Adhering to national laws on the environment.
- Publishing the company's environmental record for public scrutiny.
